At some time in the recent past, I must have ordered something online which concluded my order by offering something extra; I ALWAYS decline such things, but Lo! and behold, at the beginning of April, a charge of $103.84 appeared on my Amex card, a charge which neither I nor my wife could remember. When we received a smaller charge a month later, we decided we had to investigate and we did just that.

On calling "Privacy Protection Plus", we were told that we had applies online and given the credit info willingly and they refused a refund. Luckily, Amex listened to reason and reversed the charges and are running a fraud investigation, or so we thought. Imagine our surprise when we received yet another bill, small to be sure, but being issued in the face of a fraud investigation, it really caught our attention.

Privacy Protection Plus claims they closed the account in April, but Amex says "no they didn't!". Amex has been told to refuse all charges from this company in future and, hopefully they will. I am going to trace down the supposed online order and will make sure the other company that allowed these scam artists to tag onto their offer will not be a company from which I will ever order again. If all the victims of this ripoff did the same, maybe we all might get some closure.
