Complaint Review: PROACTIV

DO NOT BUY PROACTIV!! It's an OVERPRICED product that is EXTREMELY difficult to cancel or get your money back. I have seen the commercials on tv for years and years. I finally decided to order the product on 1/6/13. I went online using my IPhone 4S, I used the mobile site to order. I put in my info an then I hit continue. I was surprised there was NO CONFIRMING like all other online orders. What I mean is there was no chance to confirm your order and there was no shipping options.

Everything else I have ever ordered online, there is another step after entering your info and CC info. There is ALWAYS a page that shows you the shipping options and costs. It tells the time for delivery and you can get it express shipped. NOT WITH PROACTIV.

As soon as I entered my info and credit card info, it said thank you for your order you will receive it in 2-3 WEEKS!! NO EXPRESS SHIPPING OPTION!! Not only that but the nice "little" secret that is NO WHERE I COULD SEE, was that you will be charged the $30 EVERY MONTH!!

Upon seeing the 2-3 week delivery time, I decided to cancel. It's 2013, it SHOULD NOT TAKE 2 WEEKS to ship, unless they use the Old Pony Express to deliver their orders. I did a little research and found out that AcneFree offers the SAME EXACT PRODUCT. PROACTIV gives you a 1 month supply for $29.95. With AcneFree you can get a 2 MONTH SUPPLY at Walmart for $17 !! So there is NO WAITING 2-3 WEEKS for shipping and it costs 75% LESS with AcneFree. (2 month supply for $17 versus 1 month supply for $30)

After seeing this I wanted to cancel my order. I called Guthy-Renker 10 minutes later after placing my order and said I wanted to cancel my order . I was told on Sunday 1/6/13 & on Monday 1/7/13 that my order WAS NOT in their system yet and there was nothing they could do til Wesnesday 1/9/13. I was told that after 72 hours I could call back and CANCEL my order and I would get my money back. Today, Tuesday 1/8/13 I got an email at 10 am saying that my order had been SHIPPED ALREADY!!

I called Guthy-Renker AGAIN, and I was told that there was NOTHING they could do for two reasons. They said that I "WASN'T IN THE SYSTEM YET" and they had already shipped it out! So I WAS FLAT OUT LIED TO TWICE. I'm not real smart, but if I'm "NOT IN THE SYSTEM" as I was told twice , then how does their product get shipped to me? It must be MAGIC, kind of like Immaculate Conception!!

I believe that the way they do business is LIE TO PEOPLE and say that they can't do anything for 72 hours because they "can't see you" in their system. Then they charge your credit card and ship you the product before the 72 hour mark comes, that way there is NOTHING that you can do about it!! I think they do it this way so that people already have the product and will just keep it and not go thru the hassle of returning it!!

I was told that I could get my money back, but I had to SPEND MY OWN $$ to ship it back to them , once I did that I would get the charge reversed on my credit card. THIS PROCESS TAKES 4-6 WEEKS ACCORDING TO THEM!! COME ON PEOPLE!! It's 2013 for Gods Sake!! They took my $$ INSTANTLY, why does it all of the sudden take 6 WEEKS to issue a refund after I was STRAIGHT UP LIED TO NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! It's OVERPRICED and they WILL LIE CHEAT AND STEAL YOUR MONEY!! AcneFree costs 75%LESS for DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF THE SAME PRODUCT!! That's right PROACTIV is $29.95 for a 1 MONTH supply versus AcneFree at $17 for a 2 MONTH supply if THE EXACT SAME product, just different names!!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND (((REDACTED)))!! I have my own Landscape business so I'm ALWAYS around dirt and getting my face dirty. I don't have bad acne by any stretch if the imagination, just a few adult pimples from my face being dirty and sweaty for 12 hours a day! The (((REDACTED))) product has made a HUGE difference after ONLY 3 DAYS!! I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with (((REDACTED)))!! SAME PRODUCT as PROACTIV DOUBLE THE SUPPLY!! 75% LESS EXPENSIVE!! NO WAITING for it to get shipped, just go pick it up at Walmart or Target

DO NOT BUY PROACTIV !! The fancy commercials with the celebrities is ALL A SCAM!! This is their REAL Three Step System OVERPRICED PRODUCT LIARS WORKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO WAY TO CANCEL YOUR ORDER!
