Complaint Review: Prof Richard Murray James Cook University

When I read the other review on here about JCU I did want to make a specific post about the medical school. Events I will list here pertain to the medical school as it has been run under Prof Richard Murray that will demonstrate why he is NOT fit to be running a medical school. His ambitions are seemingly far off those one would typically associate with that of a Dean. He takes long stretches of time away from the medical school. Meanwhile staff and students are left in disarray. The amount of time he spends away is so much that they require 'assistant' Deans; so what is the point of him even having a position? Instead of having a Dean that is always absent why don't the big wigs at JCU give Prof Murray a job as an overseas researcher as that is all he seems to do. Give the position of Dean to someone who actually cares about his students. I do say fraud because there are mutterings that on his overseas travels he recruits students, and receives 'donations.' Perhaps the fraudulent means of attaining students is reason for poor performance? It is also not suprising that as a result of his absence of leadership there has been a drop in student and staff performance and morale. Oh well JCU, you have dug your own grave on this one, as you have on many other issues.
