Complaint Review: Progressive / Harley Davidson Insurance

  I purchased a new Harley Davidson motorcycle in March 2013. My insrance carrier, at the time, did not offer motorcycle coverage. I was presented a card, by the dealership, with information to call for insurance.  I was purchasing said motorcyle

outright, but wanted the best coverage available. I asked Progressive to provide the best coverage, and to note, the bike would be garaged and only rode nine months out of the year. I was quoted and billed $563.00 for the years coverage. It seemed a bit steep at the time, but I all I wanted to do was ride.

 The deal was done, I had my dream bike, all was grand or so I thought. I receivevd a phone call from Progressive asking if I wished to upgrade my policy, to include uninsured motorist? All I couls say is WHAT?  I have a gold plan, should it not be included? Well that is optional Mr. Robertson. I was outraged, but do you think I wanted to give these crooks another dime? I refused and should have canceled the coverage right then. I could only foresee trouble with getting my money back.

 So comes renewal time. i shopped around, found better coverage, which includes uninsured motorist at less than $350.00 a year

 In closing, I would think a fine company like H-D would like to distance themselves from such shoddy business practice. Me i am done with Progressive, and will share my experience with all   thnx!
