This company is trying to collect money from me (supposedly)on behalf of Verizon Wireless, from an account that according to them belongs to me. I been with Verizon for a little over two years and never had a problem with any payments made, because they were always on time and just this october 2004 I finished my contract with them. Now this company "progressive management systems" appears on my credit report saying that I owe over 1,500 dollars to them. I called them to find out what this was about and all they were interested was if was going to pay or not they didn't care what I had to say.

The whole time I talked to them they were rude and the minute I started asking questions about the account they would just interrupt me with are you going to pay or not, she wouldn't answer any questions and didn't want to give me any information about the account, all she could tell me was that it was my account and that I had to pay or else she would send my file to their lawyer and the lawyer would then start processing documents to see how many things I owned so that they could start collecting some of them and that on my credit report this account would come out as a derrogatory account
(wich is the worse you can have on you credit report according to the person I talked to)and that it was better for me to declare myself on bankruptcy if I wasn't going to pay.

So bottom line Progressive Management Systems won't provide any information on the account, Verizon wireless tells me that I'm an EXCELLENT CUSTOMER and they don't have any idea what this is all about (I know because I called them more than 3 different times just to make sure) and if I want some answers from progressive all I'm gonna get are threats of some lawyer processing, whatever it is that he is goint to process (if there is a lawyer! and if there is something to process) to take whatever I own.

Do you have a copy of your credit report? Does anything that is showing on it from these agencies you listed sound like any account you have ever had at any time? If not, you need to put a major freeze on your credit reports and get to the bottom of what is going on with your credit. Good luck.

I also have been reported as having a collection or acct. balance in excess of $2000.00
Even more odd, is that I also have a an outstanding balance/collection against me for a Verizon credit account.

I have been a customer of Verizon for several years now, and while I may have been a few days late here and there on my account, never have I racked up the 600+ and 700+ bills collectors have been calling me for! Nor was I aware that Verizon even had a credit system!

I have over 27 fraudulent transactions on my credit report, more than double my own personal and valid transacstions.

Others include Collect America, WFNNB Bealls, GNB Bealls,Atlas Credit,Drive Financial,GEMB JCP, HSBC BSBuy, HSBC NV,LVNV Funding, Midland Credit,Midwestern Loans, Paul Michael Marketing, United Compucred, and Account Services Coll.

Dispute The Charge

#4Consumer Suggestion

Sat, December 04, 2004

You need to write to the credit bureau(s) where the bogus charge is showing up and tell them that this is not your debt and want it removed immediately. Contact Verizon and ask if they will forward information showing that you are with them and your account is in good standing. Write a letter to this collection outfit, certified mail, return receipt requested, and tell them this is not your debt and they are to cease all collection efforts immediately. Advise them they are to remove the derogatory information from your credit report and cc your Attorney General's office and the Attorney General's office in the state where the main office for this collection agency is located. Good Luck!
