Progressive Moving Misleading, Unprofessional, Unresponsive Ovilla, Texas
I hired Progressive moving company to move my furniture on 8/28/10. I spoke with Jimmy Wright to schedule the move as he assured me his movers would shrink wrap my furniture, have moving pads, and dollies to move my property safely. He also insured me they were licensed, insured and a member of the BBB. He reassured me they were insured in which I took as if something were to get broken or damaged they would replace or repair) Immediately upon the delivery of my property when the movers started unloading the truck they brought in my floor lamp and I immediately noticed it was broken I mentioned it to the mover right then and he told me to call Progressive moving and I said okay. After further unpacking my house I discovered my 35" inch TV screen glass had a chip right in the middle of the screen. I called the number on the bottom of my receipt as soon as the movers left and they were closed.
The following Monday 9/1/10 I called Jimmy Wright with Progressive Moving to advise of the damage to my property and the first thing he said is they do not have replacement insurance, (Never once did he mention they did not have replacement/repair insurance until after I was moved). Then he said they only pay 60 cent per pound, then he said "let me look into it to see what I could do" he also asked me to provide him with the value of my property that was broke/damaged in which I emailed to him the same day 9/1/10. I did not receive a reply back so I emailed Progressive Moving again on 9/31/10 asking for a response ASAP, I didnt hear from him until 9/6/10 and his reply was "We'll send a check for the damages on the 15th of this month. On 9/7/10 I sent Jimmy Wright an email with my correct home address; on 9/9/10 I emailed Progressive again asking what the amount of the check would be since it wasnt mentioned in the other response. He didnt respond so I called him 9/10/10 to ask him the amount of the check at that time he told me it would be for $150.00. I have communicated with Jimmy several times this month via phone and email, regarding to check because I have never received anything. He said they sent the first check to my work address in which I never received, Im still not sure why they would have sent the check to my job when I personally emailed him on 9/7/10 with my home address in addition he should have had my address on file because his movers moved me. I called him again on 9/23/10 to advise I had not received anything. He was acting like he didnt understand how that could have happened, I asked him what address the check was sent to and he advised it was sent to my job, he assured me at that time he would personally put a check in the mail that day which was on Thursday 9/23. He also suggested having one of his movers deliver the check to me personally which I said was fine also, well once again I didnt hear anything back from him. I called Jimmy again on 9/29/10 to tell him I still had not received the second check he supposedly mailed and I would like to come to his office and pick it up, he would not allow me to do that he outright refused to let me come to his office to pick the check up. He got loud with me and was very nonchalant about the whole situation, like it was no big deal in which to him it wasnt because he made $242.00 off of me but he didnt want to replace what was broken. Jimmy then told me his driver would "probably" deliver the check to me 9/30 or 10/1. He would not even give me an exact date. I honestly feel if he were being truthful why couldnt I pick the check up at his corporate office?
