After a trip to the E.R. at St. Lukes in Allentown I quickly received a bill for an ultrasound. My insurance information was not listed on the bill, though it had been recorded during my hospital visit. I had to chat with this company to make sure I didn't have to pay the bill as they took my insurance information during the chat and then submitted it to insurance. This should have been done in the first place.

A month later my mother made a trip to the same E.R. and had x-rays. She also received a bill very quickly from Progressive Insurance Associates, Inc. with no insurance information on the bill.

It seems this company would prefer to bill you first and receive your payment rather than actually bill your insurance company for you. At best this could result in a double payment and a refund to you after insurance pays. At worst, you make a payment for something your insurance company should be paying for in the first place or you disregard it thinking it's taken care of and then get sent to collections. This is a questionable practice that should be investigated. St. Lukes Allentown should discontinue using this company until they revise their billing practices.
