A young man representing himself as a college student and calling himself Ashland Ruder was going door to door in our neighborhood. He was selling subscriptions to popular magazines. The premise was that he was working towards a trip. This was June 11, 2011. He carried a student ID. We subscribed, as did several of our neighbors. We were even given a receipt.
No legitimate vendors has a chance of selling door to door in our neighborhood. He or she will most likely be reported to the police as soon as the first door is answered to verify their legitimacy.
