I noticed a charge today from Prolast for 39.73 in my wamu account, after short review i found other charges as follows
10/5/2007 MC-PROLAST 18009341875 $1.00
10/9/2007 MC-PROLAST 18009341875 $39.73
11/7/2007 MC-EMEDIA 18009341875 $39.73
12/7/2007 MC-CASTEL 18009341875 $39.73
I immediately called the phone number listed and was asked to leave a message ( yeah right), i tried again after few minutes and finally connected to some "phone support lady" who I barely could understand.
I inquired about the charges and she became very rude and hang up on me. I became furious and called back and same lady picked up, i again said I have not authorized those transactions but she said i did. After I asked to provide proof as IP address or anything and threated chargeback she hang up again.
finally I decided to call WAMU and file disputes after doing little research online and noticing I am not the only one who has experience with those people.
Most fraudsters will "buy" cc info from other shady processors including some well known and respected as PayPal, yes believe it or Not PayPal is another disaster
( or at least few bad apples within its workforce), just google Paypal.
I am sure most of you have similar experience, those people usually "test" a cc info with small amount like $1.00 in my case and if the transaction goes through they start taking more money out but not too much hoping they stay under the radar.
I will have to call Wamu back in the morning as their claims dept is closed, Hopefully I will be able to get my 120 bucks back and I sure will provide them with all info to pursue those thieves.
I am sure if enough of us are victims of same company we can get petitions and expel them from operating and reimbursing all the victims.
