THE PROMIS RECOVERY CENTRE HAS GONE INTO LIQUIDATION WHICH MEANS THAT YOUR PRIVATE AND PERSONAL MEDICAL RECORDS ARE BEING SOLD OFF TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW. THE INFORMATION COMMISSIONAR HAS ASSURED ME THAT YOUR RECORDS, DUE TO THEIR PERSONAL AND DELICATE NATURE, MUST BE EITHER RETURNED TO YOU OR DESTROYED APPROPRIATELY, NOT SOLD ON.

THE LIQUIDATOR SELLING PROMIS'S ASSETS IS SMITH & WILLIAMSON TEL: 01622-604-500. YOU CAN ALSO FORWARD ANY COMPLAINTS TO THE LIQUIDATOR ABOUT PROMIS RECOVERY CENTRE TO PREVENT THEM FROM BEING DIRECTORS OF A COMPANY AGAIN. THE LIQUIDATOR IS NOW THE DATA CONTROLLOR BY LAW, AND IF THEY MISHANDLE OR DO NOT SECURE YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION APPROPRIATELY THEN THEY ARE LIABLE TO PAY COMPENSATION UNDER THE DATA PROTECTION ACT, AND WITH OVER 4000 PATIENTS AT PROMIS THAT COMPENSATION COULD ADD UP, A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT.

ROBERT LEFEVER LIKES TO CRITISISE HIS PATIENTS, EVEN IN THE PROMIS WORKBOOK, FOR LIVING OFF THE STATE AND YET HERE HE IS LEAVING A MOUNTAIN OF DEBT WHICH THE STATE HAS TO PAY.

THE DIRECTORS OF THE PROMIS RECOVERY CENTRE INTEND TO CARRY ON IN THE SAME BUSINESS BECOMING THE WORST POSSIBLE KIND OF COMPANY, A PHOENIX COMPANY, BUYING UP THE REMAINING ASSETS AT WELL BELOW THEIR MARKET VALUE.

THE FACT THAT THE DIRECTORS OF PROMIS DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE COURTESY TO INFORM THEIR FORMER PATIENTS OF THE LIQUIDATION AND WHAT WAS TO HAPPEN TO THEIR HIGHLY PERSONAL AND PRIVATE MEDICAL INFORMATION IS PROOF ENOUGH OF THEIR CALLOUSNESS.

Medical Records *Not* Being Sold.

#2UPDATE Employee

Fri, August 07, 2009

The site at Nonington did go into liquidation last October and Robert Lefever made sure that the medical records were shredded at that time.

I don't know where this person got the idea that medical data was being sold. Sounds like a lot of scaremongering to me.

We have continued in a smaller way and if you want to call that Phoenix then, fair enough. I don't see what is wrong with carrying on. I can't imagine what assets you think a counselling service has that could be bought back for way below market value. All you need for a counselling service is a few chairs from Ikea, and there is no great mountain of debt left for the State to pay either. Where did you get these notions?

Last October the treatment industry saw 5 major clinics go bust as a result of the economic downturn, loosing hundreds of treatment places for suffering addicts. We have had to take our losses on the chin like lots of others in our country right now, but we will carry on.

The loss of the Nonington site is very sad for us all. It's where I came for my treatment and it's where I worked with my friends and colleagues for 15 years trying to help others in the same way. I will carry on and I will try and get back all that has been lost and create more places again from the ashes. Phoenix like I hope :-)

If anyone is concerned about the state of the records you can confirm the above with the liquidators of the Nonington site whose number is above. The best person to speak to there is Ann Chapman ( 01622-604-500 ). If you would like to call me and come and visit the remaining PROMIS staff then please give us a call or pay us a visit any time. You can always get our number and follow our developments on the website www.promis.co.uk

Best

Robin
