Beware of the site PropertyRoom.com is all i would tell any person! It is a rip-off!

This once-seemingly reputable site, to my experience has been one of the worst auction sites I have ever used. Faulty products, stolen goods, untested electronics, horrible customer-service, where do i begin?

First i must give an introduction to what the site is: its an online "police auction", where stolen and confiscated items from police-forces are sold online. Its based in California, but gets goods from several places in the US. It is in auction (bidding) format.

Just to start with, the shipping-&-handling can be outrageous. Whether you buy a used camera or a single trading-card, the shipping-&-handling is no less than $7.95. That wouldn't be bad in itself, until you realize that for most items there is NO combined-shipping.

What's supposed to be a "police auction", is now actually selling a bulk of its goods from a handful of retail outlets. Mostly in the form of cheap Chinese so-called "luxury watches", sunglasses, and precious stone or silver jewelry (also made in china).

NONE of them are combined-shipping. I found that out the hard way, after i ordered a bunch of watches, a sunglasses, and several silver jewelry. Had it been combined-shipping, i would have saved a lot of money. Instead, i ended up paying more for shipping then on the items themselves!

I contacted customer-service about it, and they said there's no combined shipping, despite the fact that most of the items were coming from the SAME location! Two other cameras i ordered were coming from another location, and only those two received a single combined-shipping at a reduced rate.

I requested that my other orders be cancelled, as the price goes up dramatically since my shipping costs were more than some of my item-costs even! They refused, and paid no heed. I simply gave in, counting my losses. One after the other, over the next 3 weeks my items came in, same more LATE then others. Finally, the cameras came as well.

I had ordered a LEVIS brand white sunglasses, and turns out its MADE IN CHINA! I don't know if its authentic or not, but certainly a Chinese LEVIS glasses cant be worth any more than a FAKE version, can it? Even the silver bracelet that i ordered, even that said "made in china" on it. I'm afraid to even test whether its real silver or not.

But the worst was yet to come! The two cameras i had ordered, one was described as a used SONY and the other a brand-new KODAK. Rather, the Kodak was actually a POLAROID camera. PropertyRoom.com clearly falsely advertised the product in its description. But that wasnt even half the bad story, as the Sony camera they sent me didnt even work!

I contacted the customer-service about the Sony camera that did not work, and described the problem. I barely managed to have them agree to accept a return. But instead what they gave me was a CODE I had to write on the box, and said that a FedEx guy will come to pick up the item soon. The only problem was that, my mailing address wasn't my house address, but rather my dads work office.

And by the time I was in contact with PropertyRoom about the return, my family was already getting ready to move back overseas, while I'm left by myself to finish college. Of course a week or so go by, and I heard no word of any FedEx guy dropping by. I contact customer-service again, that please issue me a return label. Now they started going off that why did I take so long to get back, and that the FedEx guy allegedly came and gone, and that I will no longer be able to return the item!

I pleaded with them, and even mentioned that my family were moving overseas and so I couldn't get back quickly, and that the mailing address wasn't my home so I can never know if the FedEx guy came or not as I dont live there! The rep finally agreed to send me a return label.

I waited for three days, but the rep didnt respond. I pleaded that YES, I want the return label, just send it to me! And three more days later, I come online and receive an e-mail that my return label was sent by FedEx and has expired! I wonder what return label? I got nothing!. Now once again, they are refusing to accept a return!

This has been the most horrible customer-service experience I've had in my life. And it is by far the worst auction site on the web, especially for any unsuspecting person who doesn't factor in the shipping costs for each individual item!

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! The items are all used (confiscated) and dont work. And the new stuff is either NOT as described, or cheap second-rate items falsely described as luxury or high-end items. THEY ARE A RIPOFF/SCAM!

PropertyRoom.com sent me wrong camera, and another broken camera. Not taking return. Horrible customer service, and Chinese-made jewelry, Levis sunglasses & luxury-watches. No combined-shipping either
