Protect plus took money form my checking account saying that I signed up for this service, which I still don't know what thier service is, they took 1.95 the first time and 134.95 the second time.

This company says that they are affiliated with AOL. I called aol and they said that they were. Beware AOL users

AOL employees on the whole may not know anything about the other companies that are involved with them. However they do know that at the end of their tech calls that they are required to say something like "Would you like to hear about...?" or something to that effect.

If the consumer says yes then they transfer them. Now who do they believe they are transferring them too. I wonder! Could it be that they are transferring them to the people who sign the customer up for a free trial of this or a free month of that. Yes they do.

These companies have an alliance with AOL which is why AOL does the upselling along with the billing although the employees may not know who the company is or what they are selling they still have to admit that their company is involved. However, being that it is the other company that the customer is in contract with AOL is not responsible or liable for the customers decision to accept the offer. Thank you for your time.

I talked to several supervisors at AOL and they are the ones who told me, so maybe you need to know what you are talking about before defending AOL.AOL did this and I know for a fact they did.I have proof. I have taped conversations.

An AOL employee TOLD you that is what was happening? Do you really think AOL employees have any clue what they are talking about. if AN aol employee is your only source of info you know nothing about these issues. I am a supervisor at aol and i can tell you more about this issue than anyone else.

You are right, AOL doesn't give out the information, Protect Plus contacts AOL and AOL takes the money out of your account and gives it to Protect Plus, A representive of AOL told me this themselves. You have to be very careful of what you click on. There is no such thing as free. Never. In fine print somewhere it says that by clicking on this page you give aol permission to take money out of your account. So AOL is being very sneaky about the whole thing. I am sure that AOL gets a portion of the money stolen.

AOL IS NOT TO BLAME

I am an employee of AOL and have researched this matter directly.Keep in mind this is just one of MANY scams Targeting people and AOL themselves. As much as everyone would love to point the finger at aol because the company ripping them off says aol gave them info , that is not true.We are the largest internet service in the world with around 40 million members. We do not get there by giving out credit cards or billing info. First of all, It is literally IMPOSSIBLE for me or any other aol employee to even access payment info ourselves. So to give it out would be just as impossible. Second, AOL is not partnered with any of these companies whatsoever. One thing you can notice if you look into these reports. This same scamm has used about 20 different company names. Same scam, same people, different company name allmost every time. Now we know this is a scam, its obvious. THe million dollar question is "How did this company get my payment information?".That is what I spent the most time by far researching. Based on what aol members who have been scammed have told me over the phone, and what i have learned about these scams here are some of the various ways these companies got payment info. 1. The customer got tricked into giving it out and forgot from a spam email or Telemarketed call.(im sure you will all deny that but I guarentee some did) 2.Called AOL or replied to an official "aol email" by verifying your payment info.(wich was not a real aol number, or a real AOL email) 3. AOL employees signing up new accounts are writting down payment info as members give it out and use it to fuel these scams.(there are hundrreds of AOL employees in this dept, and it would only take a few doing this). If this is the case, we can find out who these purpitrators are and have them prosecuted. That is what i am currently working on now. 4. AOL's servers are getting hacked. (this is HIGHLY unlikely). I will continue to look into this and i would be glad to assist anyone who contacts me regarding this scam. My personal email address is supapro187@aol.com Label the email RIP-OFF REPORT.
next time watch who you are pointing your finger at when you get scammed. Blamming AOL is exactly what the scammers want you to do.
