Protection One And Valentine & Kebartas i cancelled and paid for all services then protection one filed with credit agency, saying that i failed to pay! Cypress California
i cancelled service with protection one earlier this year. protection one told me that i would have to pay for the rest of the month, which i agreed and then call them back to make sure my account was closed and paid. so, i did and the rep. asked me to fax in documents proving that the account was paid. i did, and i went on with life, thinking that everything was done. it is now october and i get a notice from a collection agency, valentine & kebartas, inc., saying that i owe $163.92. i called and talked to melissa, who was unhelpful, not understanding, cared less for anything i had to say; just wanted me to pay. sorry, that will not happen. i have an 800 credit score, nearly flawless credit, no bills (except mortgage), i am a professional and i can easily pay for this but i won't. i'd rather give my money to a homeless man than give in to a scam. i learned a lesson here... if you cancel anything, call and tell the companies to send you a confirmation letter. i will be reporting this junk to bbb, state and federal agencies.
