When I ran into some cash flow problems I needed to choose between buying food or not paying my credit card bills for a couple months. I of course I decided that food was a bit more important.

Well when I was able to begin making payments again I spoke to Providian costomer sevice to see how much money was needed to be paid to keep the account open with them. I did this for about 5 months often sending more than I could really afford to just because they claimed it was needed to maintain the account.

After my balance was at a level that there should have been credit acually avalable to me again I asked that a new card be sent to me as I had discarded the old one. Wasnt I suprised to hear that this card I had been paying on all this time was acually cancelled by them around the very time I resumed payments to prevent just this! I was a good customer for 7 years with them and now this is the thanks I got!

I explained the situation to numerous customer sevice reps and supervisors and got nothing but sarcastic replys and ill treatment from them. They decieved me for 5 months saying my status was fine as long as I keep up payments and I did just that but they knew all along that because of the 2 payments I missed my card had been cancelled.
