-I was ripped off by an unscrupulous merchant to the tune of $987.50
-I filed a billing dispute with Providian in the time frame required.
-Providian FAILED to FOLLOW THE FEDERAL LAW (Regulation Z) and didnt handle my dispute within the required 60 day time frame.
-Because Providian didnt handle my dispute in the right amount of time, They issued me a credit for the $987.50 then AFTER THE FEDERAL TIME FRAME EXPIRED (2 billing cycles) they REVERSED THE CREDIT AND ARE MAKING ME PAY the $987.50 DESPITE the fact the merchant RIPPED ME OFF!!!
-When I asked Providian why they reversed the CREDIT, I keep getting told "The Charge-Back Time To The Merchant Has Expired"
(TRANSLATION: We dropped the ball and didnt keep to our Agreement with you our customer and despite the fact we found that your dispute had merit, since we were incompetent and didnt address your dispute in a timely manner-i.e. 2 billing cycles-we now cant recover your $987.50 from the merchant, so you, the customer, are gonna just have to eat this charge)

-Of course, when I try and get any answers I get the run around, I filed a complaint with the Comptroller of the Currency for what good that has done.
