Providian Rip-off! Beware, this credit card can never be paid off! Tilton, New Hampshire and Dallas, Texas
I wanted to pay off credit card. I haven't used it in a year just paying it off. In February I called ask for pay off including any finance charges that would incure while check was processed.
I closed out account. I sent check to them before the scheduled date. Assumed all was well. Didn't hear from them again until April, and I received a statement for 135.15. I called them ask for explanation, seems account racks up finance charges while the check gets to them.
They can not and will not give me or anyone a payoff on their account. They have now charged me 156.74 as of May 2nd
