PROVIDIAN VISA ripoff abused & mistreated Dallas Texas

I have had my account with Providian for three years and my credit report reflects that I have NEVER missed a payment to providian or any of my other credit cards. I keep the account balance paid down and often times pay the entire balance in full. When not paying the balance out and out I make a substantial payment bi-weekly.

I recenltey recived and upgrade from Gold to Platinum which decreased my interest rate. Three months later I get a notice in the mail saying that my account has been sold to Aspire Visa. This is ridiculous! Aspire is notorious for ripping of clients and stealing money with incredibluy high intrest rates.

Now my credit report will relflect that this account was closed by the credit grantor and my FICO score will decrease due to having a closed account. I feel like I have been raped so to speak. How can big companies like this take advantage of people like me? I am trying to work and make a living and have ALWAYS paid my bill on time to providian and everyone else that has given me credit and now they sell my name to a higher interest company for the sake of earning another dollar? This is crazy and it should be stopped.

My credit history is forever scarred by a big name company with the guts to cut the little mans throat for trying to be an "on time" customer.

PLEASE HELP~! If you see that you can help me in any way , please do so. The balance that I owe to "aspire" is not that substantial and I will make immedaite payment to close the account but then my credit report will show two closed accounts, one to providian and one to aspire further lowing my FICO score and putting my financial freedom behind bars for a few more years.

Credit Report Will Reflect "Account Closed By Consumer"

#2Consumer Suggestion

Thu, August 07, 2003

My account was also closed by Providian. When I checked my credit report it was reporting as "Account Closed By Consumer", which is not lowering my score. When you pay off and close your Aspire account, send a letter stating that you want the account reported as "Paid In Full/Closed By Consumer" to the credit bureaus.... Aspire is a very sleazy company and will just keep your account open (and manage to put bogus "fees" on it) once you pay it off unless you specify that you want it CLOSED. I had a NextCard Visa at the time they went bellyup and they sent my account to Merrick Bank (the account was in good standing, never late), when I checked my report after that NextCard had it listed as Account Closed By Credit Grantor/Chargeoff... Yikes! I had that corrected immediately but it just goes to show how careful we all have to be these days regarding our credit reports! Good luck, I hope everything goes smoothly.
