Ken White with Prudential Insurance told my life insurance agent that the best investment would be a variable annuity. Ken White must review any annuity to make sure it is the right investment for the insured. I was looking to invest in an IRA and was looking for higher returns. And lower fees. The agent was very evasive when asking him questions about the variable annuity illustration. I asked him questions about the fees and he could not answer. To find out variable annuities are Charge 2.9% annual on the entire amount of money. So off the bat you are losing 2.9% on your money. Over 10 years of compounding interest that is a lot. It’s a lot of money to pay for a guaranteed death benefit, after all that’s what life insurance is for. They don’t push term insurance. I was only offered high commission products from my agent. Customer service is terrible. They should be ashamed doing what’s best for their pocket and not for their customer. 100k variable annuity at 6% commission to the agents is 6k vs doing what is right for the customer and using a IRA that pays $180 commission. You ask for a IRA, but the agent just pushes an annuity. And when you say no, they don’t return your calls. They can’t even service your policy correctly. The old prudential is dead. The people who do oversight to make sure their agents are not scamming the elderly, disabled and single people are not doing a good job or the prudential life insurance agent is a flat out liar.
