I moved into a 1 bedroom Brownstone, (I am single) in June of last year. I went through the proper procedure to connect my gas and electric and starting receiving bills from PSE&G of $25.00 or less from June through November of 203. In December my bill arrived and stated the amount due was $537.45 by Jan. 12, 2005.

When I contacted PSE&G re: same, their explanation was they could not get into the building to read the meter from June 5th through December and this was my electric for the accumulation of all those months. I mailed the ($537.45) payment on Jan. 5th in total to PSE&G. Within 2 days later I received another Dec. 2004 statement for $737.02 stating that my gas was $21.00 and my electric was $178.53 and this payment was due with the overdue $537.45 amount which was already paid and not late at all by January 19, 2005. I do not why I am being punished for someone else's oversight and this was a punch to my gut because I am temporarily employed.
