I first heard of PSXBOY as a reputable source for PS3 repair parts. I Google'd their history and it seems they have been very clean and trustworthy. Unfortunately, it seems they would break that trust when I decided to buy from them.

I bought a laser lens and at first it seemed to work just as planned. However the more I used it, the more noise it produced, and eventually the lens died.

I contacted them within the 30-60 day warranty they had for lens (on the PS3 page it says 30 days, but their warranty page: http://psxboy.com/article_6.html states 60 days). I contacted the seller as instructed and we struck an agreement to exchange the items; not refund, but exchange.

Well that was about a month ago, Christmas time pretty much. I figured since it was the holidays things would be jammed for a while, so I was patient. However, after two weeks, I started to ask curiously about my item. First it was, "Did you receive my item, the return address was..." No answer. Then I asked: "Have you shipped out my item yet? I bought a 'PS3 Lens w/ Mechanism KEM-400AAA'." Still no answer. I realized then that I had been scammed.

The worst part about it is that their warranty page is basically said the complete opposite of what had happened to me. Not only was I denied a proper warranty, or even a response from them (which the lack of communication from the point that I had confirmed delivery of the item to them could only tell me they did actually scam me and that it was not a misunderstanding or a lost package). I did not receive my 100% money back guarantee, even when I began to ask if it was reasonable to at least have my money back.

So PSXBOY, or Dancy Lee/DanXi Li (a more literal romanization I suppose) scammed me out of $70 dollars, a few more to pay for the charge they receive from me paying via Paypal, $10+ for shipping to, and shipping back. I lost roughly $100 dollars from what seemed to be a simple ordeal.

After being scammed I looked a little harder for any fraudulent activities involving PSXBOY. In fact, I found one that sounded reliable. The person was on a trade forum, and complained that PSXBOY promised him a refund of his $700+ purchase of [defective parts], and that he played the waiting game just as I did. He even went to calling the company up and speaking to him. The company promised him the money, yet he waited and waited and the money never came back.

I can only assume that PSXBOY built a reputation from shipping out non-defective items. Yet for everytime a return is made, you might as well assume they are salvaging your part for anything of value, rather than caring about your satisfaction as a customer anymore.
