I stored all my personal belongings for the duration of 1 year at this Public Storage location. When I went to retrieve my items and found all my furniture, over $3,000 worth, was ruined from mold. When I signed up for my service, I was told that I had no choice but to pay an extra $8/month for an insurance policy that would cover me from any damages up to $2,000. When I tried to make the claim for my furniture, I was told my policy would only cover up to $250 maximum payout. When I confronted Public Storage about this, they blew me off and said I have to go through the insurance provider. The manager lady at the location said that I should qualify for the full $2,000 based on her understanding of the insurance coverage. She apparently has no clue about her own product or just acted like an idiot and lies to everyone. I would NEVER use public storage again or ever recommend it to anyone! They would not acknowledge that my furniture was a total loss because of their units and basically told me too bad. The manager lady here is a total idiot and will tell you lies to get you to sign the papers to use their storage facility. DO NOT STORE YOUR BELONGINGS AT ANY PUBLIC STORAGE LOCATION!!!

I am too a victim of Public Storage.  I've been paying my bill including the insurance for 4 years.  I received an email from Willis Insurance saying that I should reinstate my insurance.  I emailed them twice without receiving a response.  The third email I mentioned contacting the D.A.  Their response was I had not paid them.  Excuse me?  What am I paying the monthly rent and insurance combined for?  I told them I paid their worthless insurance and I was told to contact the property manager.

I am contacting the Los Angeles District Attorney and every local, state and federal agency that oversee this company and hopefully put an end to Public Storage's scams.

I urge you to file a complaint against this fraudulent company with the Insurance Commission, California AG and the District Attorney.
