My home had sold in Arizona, so I researched moving companies and found Public Van Lines to be the most helpful and best price, I was told once I make my deposit the move date is guaranteed and since it was close to the holidays it is like booking a plane ticket the more difficult it is and harder to book if I wait to make my deposit and enter into the moving contract. So I make my deposit, fly out to pack up the house, the guaranteed move date is for the 17th or 18th, perfect the house closes on the 21st. On the 17th I receive an email below:

 Hi Tamra,

This is a time-sensitive notice from Public Van Lines, informing you that your pick up window has been dropped from our database, due to a complication regarding truck assignment failure. We would be happy to entertain a possible rescheduling of your move date along with a courtesy credit. We would also be happy to offer you a full refund of your reservation deposit in the amount of $220. If there is anything else we can do for you, please call 888-966-8371.

I call them in a panic!!!! Remembering what the girl had said that the closer to the holidays it is harder to get a moving company to come. They tell me they are working on a reschedule I explained that I had to be out by the 21st. I get this email:

Hi Tamra,
Following discussion with our Residential Dispatch Division, we understand that you would like to accept our earliest rescheduling opportunity along with a courtesy credit. Accordingly, our Dispatch Division is diligently working on assigning you to the earliest possible opening. We will provide you with the rescheduling opportunity details for you no later than 1 pm PST on 12/18/11. Thank you for your understanding, patience and cooperation. We hope to make this a peaceful and pleasant process from this point forward.

The 18th comes no phone call!! Stressed out!

I call the 19th and they tell me that the movers will be there tomorrow. The movers come everything seems ok.

I call Public Van Lines to arrange a pick up and guess what???? Phone number is disconnected!!!!

Panic again!!! I called the New York office they give me the same phone numbers that are disconnected, I explained that the phones are disconnected they give me another phone number, it rings picks up and it is a recording: Leave a message. I leave a message, no one calls this goes on for a week.

I finally get in touch with them and the Manager ERICA states we dent have a move with you, I asked,  you cant see the deposit I gave you? you cant see all the emails your company sent me? Oh I see all that but you rescheduled with another company. WHAT???? I did no such thing, your company sent me the information that the move date was rescheduled to the 20th . ERICA says let me give you a number to the company that "MOST PROBABLY HAS YOUR STUFF" Unbelievable!!! Do Not Use this company!!! Moving is stressful enough! Horrible customer service! Still waiting on my stuff!!!

They will take your deposit gladly and kindly but once they do... forget it,  they read from a script when things go wrong .
