Look at the email address you received that fake notification email from: live.com.

Do you really think that PCH wouldn't send emails from a PCH.com website? This is obviously a scam.

Publisher E-Mail Scam

If you receive an email stating the winnings of a large sum of money, then it is definitely a scam. One clever way to recognize a scam is based on what they are asking and how they spell things. A couple huge "red flags" on this email is publisher is spelled without the "s." It should be publishers. Secondly, they are asking for your specific information. The real publishers would know this information as they contact you via mail. Thirdly, the fact that you do not remember entering this makes it a scam. In life, you don't get something for nothing. Watch for the scams that they also have that include a check. They want you to deposit a fraudelent check so they can acquire your accounting info. Don't let these thieves outsmart you.
