Publishers Clearing House - PCH.Com, Active-Periodicals ripoff, Early morning telephone call promising diamond ring, wrist watch, magazines Beware of PCH; they bite. Port Washington New York
It was very early and we were still in bed, there is a three hour time difference between us and New York. My wife answered the phone. The excited person on the other end said "this is Kathy, you have already won a diamond ring, and Tiffany will send you the wrist watch and magazines."
My wife asked me to give her the credit card. I told her that PCH was a scam and we shouldn't do it. She said Kathy told her we could cancel anytime.
We cancelled that same day. Several days later the paperwork arrived for our signature on the agreement. Of course we did NOT return it.
In the meantime we have exchanged many e-mails. They cannot find our order. They do not have the information to credit our Credit Card, funny, they found it to deduct well over $100. They said to fax copies of the check, both sides, or copies of the Credit Card Statement. Copies fo the statement were sent immediately (Sept. 5) via US Postal Service with the deductions marked in red and circled. More e-mails. They can not locate our order or copies of the Credit Card statement.
E-Mail has been sent asking them to stop sending the magazines, Readers Digest and others. We cannot locate a phone number to discuss the problem. Looks like keeping that a secret is part of there way of doing business.
Beware of Publishers Clearing House (PCH). They bite.

another letter from Publishers Clearing House
#3Author of original report
Fri, October 17, 2003
October 17, 2003 Upon returning from a 3 week vacation I found in my stack of mail another letter from Publishers Clearing House. This time asking for another $58.28 in addition to that same amount that they deduction from my Credit Card after we had called and told them to cancel. They have sent us four e-mail messages asking for more information. I responded with six replies which they ignored. PCH also requested copies of the Credit Card Account as a proof that they deduction money from our card. This was send via US mail with a cover letter. This they also ignored and replied that our records could not be located. I was informed today that unless I send them another check for $58.28, today, that they would turn the account over to a collection agency to collect $700 for magazines that we did not request and have asked to cancel several times.....and that would affect our Credit Record. This is rip-off to the nth degree. Magazines continue to come after phone, e-mail, and US Mail requesting that they be stopped immediately.
