I signed up with Pulse Power in 2020 and agreed to AutoPay so I could get a $1.00 discount on my monthly statement each month. My rate was 10.2 cents per kWh plus $3.95 per month for 12 months, fixed rate.

I renewed my contract again in July, 2022 as I could not find an affordable rate researching other companies, either was Pulse Power. What I didn't like about renewing with them, is that I was not treated like a new customer.

There was no discount for autopay. This time the rate was higher for 12 months than for a 3 year contract. I live in an apartment and it is more practical to renew every 12 months as I don't know if I will be moving next year.

I am now charged 18.6 cents per kWh plus $3.95 base charge per billing cycle. What I don't understand is why in July and August I am being charged a higher bill, July was $111.83 for 579 kWh, and August is $119.47 for 620 kWh.

I have called customer service to help me understand why such a high bill. I use my dish washer now only 1 or 2 times a week. My thermostat is kept at 78 degrees, sometimes 79. I feel I am pretty consistent about the thermostat. And I don't have a washer or dryer.

The representative only could tell me it is the rate I am now being charged. There is no help. I asked him what if I could not pay my bill. He said the electricity would be shut off. I have never before dealt with retail electric companies. It is a nightmare to find one that has good customer service, and rates, and discounts when you are trying to save.
