Just going to tell you what transpired attempting to do business with this company

Purchased my boat from a private individual who drove the boat under it's own power to punta gorda marina. Marina pulled the boat out to dry land and was there until i bought it which was only approx 2 months since it was pulled from the water.

Former owner asked for some work to be done and paid storage up to and including the whole month of march 2016. Marina drilled a hole in the aft section for a drain plug to be installed. Drilled the hole but never put the drain plug in/

After countless phone calls,  text messages, emails, all of which was like trying to pull teeth to get them to answer, I told them what I wanted done, numerous times.

Told them I wanted the boat checked out and give me a price on what needed to be done so it didnt leak and that it ran ok. They quoted 2500, they were sent 1250 up front before they did anything.

Claiming they had 3 hours at $110 per hour, I was told both engines were shot and both starters were also shot then immediately tried to sell me 2 used v-8 engines. Now, how does 2 engines and starters both crap the bed at the same time when the boat was driven there and immediately removed from the water?

I asked for them to just repack the shafts so it didnt leak and I would have it moved elsewhere. This was agreed on several times.

I fly from NY to florida, rent a hotel and car for a week, get there on the day I told them I would be there and absolutely nothing was done, which massey assured me several times it would be ready for the boat mover.

Once there, they are so unorganized, with paperwork all over the place, could not find my title or file, made excuses for why it wasnt done, then he tried to charge me storage. The only reason the boat was there was so they could work on it, which they did not.

Al I saw was that they removed a bunch of spark plugs which they never put back and tried to start the engines.

Told me I would have to pay $800 to remove the bimini top and outriggers which is not that time consuming to get it ready for the boat mover. Boat was not done for the boat mover as promised and got delayed a few more days. Thank God the boat mover was understanding.

After all of this fiasco, massey told me he would cut a check to me for $350 from what he already received up front, which was april 7th. It is now May 24th and after numerous emails sent to him requesting my money, not a word from this very un professional person.

Before I retired, I was in business for myself for 42 years and if I ran my business like they do, I wouldnt have had a business

Ran into another boater here in NY who also had bad dealings with punta gorda marina and he said basically the same thing about this rip off business.

The boat is moved now to an honest professional place and I will be getting a real mechanic to fine tune the boat.
