Stopped by the pet shop and fell in love with a brown and black puppie--on its cage said Yorkie-- not Yorkie and? bought the puppie to keep our pure bread yorkie company-- lone behold it is a mixed bread gray and brown -some kind of a larger dog---after reading there reviews online Im not the only one with this issue--paid 1000.00 for the mixed breed --

I have called the pet shop to resolve this but they wont cooperate ---DONT BUY A PUPPIE HERE -dont get me wrong I love the dog-- one of my 5 but -- didnt want to pay 1000.00 for a mutt-- 150.00 at the pound same same--just dont want anybody else to be a victim

I regret that you had a bad experience at this store, on the other hand, I don't think you should be totally surprised by this. It is well known that pet shops get their puppies from puppy mills. In fact, there has been quite a bit written regarding the false promise of purchasing animals from pet shops. Think about it, if you were a legitimate breeder would you want to hand your pups over to a store, with no knowledge of who would adopt them or what might become of them? Both legitimate breeders and animal rescue leagues across the nation have worked hard to inform people not to buy from pet shops or stores because this practice supports puppy mills.
You are right, don't buy from this pet shop. This doesn't go far enough however. Please, anyone who reads this, don't buy dogs from any pet shop or store. Unfortunately, even rescuing a puppy from a pet shop helps the puppy mills stay in business.
If you consider getting a pet for yourself or your family, do your home work. Investigate the breeders in your area. Check their references. Better yet, visit some of the animal shelters in your area to see what is available there. Don't take the first dog or cat you see, return a time or two, spend some time with them, make sure it's a fit. In this way, chances are better it will be a forever placement that works both for you and the animal. You are worth it, and so are they.
