I searched the Internet for tiny teacup puppy which I had been wanting. I looked a breeder who sounded reputable and was very prompt with response and friendly on phone. I fell in love with Ruby , a micro teacup puppy which was selling for $4800.00. The breeder Layla Tayeb informed me that she only took wire transfers and I would get my pup from Toronto Canada in 7 days hand delivered by her. Several day later when I asked about vet check she said puppy couldn't be shipped until the end of the month, due to laws regarding rabies shot time frame when crossing border. I was disappointed but I trusted. After all she had been so nice, sending me a picture of this precious pup. When time got closer she wasn't as good at responding , so I decided to do research. I found other scams against her where people had lost thousands. I also found a site called " p paralyzed wife" intertwined with puppy site and when I looked it up they were asking for money donations to help Layla walk again with same Northcliff Toronto Canada address. This person had several other puppy sites with my dog for sale . She had a creative marketing site on same page as pocket pups site, a cosmetic sight for Islamic women, and had written a book on " How I Created a 25,000 per month Islamic Branding Consulting Business in just 90 Days".  I was floored!!! I know how she made 4800 in one phone call!!!! She is a scam artist on every level. She stole my money and quit taking my calls and texts the minute I questioned  her multiple dog sites. She informed me that others stole her sites. Problem with this answer was every site was linked to her, same #, same dogs. She would not respond to any of my texts . I realized I never even signed a written contract with her because she never bothered to send it. I informed her that that made it null and void and expected my money back in full or a dog by June 25th as planned. She informed me that she had a no refund policy and would give me half back if and when she sold puppy. She said she would let me know. Are you kidding me??? I felt like a fool. conversations came to abrupt halt, although she had barely responded for days. I informher I was pressing charges and I have contacted local police, filed a report  with Compliant referral from Internet Crime Complaint Center; contacted Ontario police and told to begin with local, contacted Bank of Montreal to see if they would investigate her account, and now I'm writing this. I plan on contacting BBB in Canada as well and teacup breeders in US . BEWARE of this breeder. She is a crook on every level and I have learned a huge lEsson. Always check the authenticity before sending money ! Don't be afraid to ask for FaceTime to see pup interacting, ask for vets number, anything to make sure this isn't a scam. I hope this keeps others from making my mistake !
