I bought a shih tzu from Mr. Cunningham who will not return my calls.  He states dog could not bond with him.  Well I took the dog to my vet and she can not hear.  I contacted Puppies Plus and they said they would have their vet check her out and they have never called me back to set a time to bring her in.  I told them per their agreement if it is congenital they would re-inburse costs.  They have not called in over a week to check her out.  She is  Deaf and can not respond to any constructive commands.  All i ask for is my $$$$ back I will eat the cost of shots, vet bills and new bedding and etc.  They don't list a e-mail address to contact them and don't answer phone when I call.  All they care about is the sale and not the health of what they are selling.  I have only had her a week and a half and everyone who comes in contact with her can tell she is deaf.  I am not trained to teach sign language and she should not have been registered with this condition.  I will also contact the  AKC of her condition.  This needs to be resolved ASAP

1. You bought the pup second hand. The petshop is under no obligation to stand by their contract guarantees because you did not buy the dog directly from them. You bought it from someone else. The minute the sale to you, took place the contract was null and void.

2. Its a pet shop of course they don't care. don't hold your breath on hearing back from them. BTW there is a contact form on their website, but again don't hold your breath, they legally aren't bound to provide YOU with any compensation.

3. the original seller may or may not have known about the pup being deaf.

4. Registration has nothing to do with health. All it takes is having tow purebred parents of the same breed and a litter that both of which meet the guidelines for being registered. AKC isn't going to do anything. Deaf pups happens, its not a disqualifying factor for registration. Just breeding and if you had any plans on breeding this pup well you got what you paid in buying a dog randomly like that least of all a pet shop one.

5. There are plenty of trainers who can teach hand signal training.

The only resolution is you either put in the effort and work with this dog or find a rescue willing to take her in.
