Complaint Review: PuraVida Lifstyles

We were subjected to a five hour high pressure sales pitch with so many numbers and angles we couldn't possibly understand it all.  We said no many times and were finally moved to a "clean up the mess" table where we were again offered different options.

When he offered what appeared to be a purchase of a "basket of vacations" at a price with no additional amounts or continuing amounts I broke down and said okay to that.  I had arrived at our vacation a day away from a funeral in the family and was exhausted and in grief and in no condition to make this kind of decision wisely.  Plus they had liquor always offered.

When the papers were brought they seemed different but by then I was just eager to get the heck out of there.  It was like being forcefully confined until you did what they wanted.

We had our vacation and went home within the week.  When I was rested and had time to actually read what I had signed I was shocked that there were charges not mentioned in two years and again in ten years and that it was limited in a way I had not understood.  How could I have?

I have cancelled the contract and am waiting for their response and asking that they refund the $2,000+ already paid them. If they have any ethics at all they will refund but I am going to fight as hard as I can if they don't.

Never will I be this kind of an idiot again.  It is better to get up and walk out than to go through all this stress.

The resort itself is not a place I would ever return to.  Pleasant enough staff but very noisy and things were breaking down and you had to ask three times for them to fix.
