PURCHASE SCAM: Robert Baker, GLOBAL PICKING LOGISTICS, Calvary International Church Tried to buy ice machines. New York New York
Robert Baker, likey an alias, called our company's phone number for information on ice machines. After sending him preliminary information, he said he wanted to purchase 3 ice machines from our location. He wanted a freight forwarding company to pick up the machines, and asked that we make arrangements with the company. As a policy, we DO NOT deal with freight forwarding companies and I reminded him of this fact. The freight forwarding company he referred me to, "Global Picking Logistics," did not have a website or registered business entity. Upon Googling their listed address, it was a different company altogether. I tried to call "Robert Baker" (his number turned out to be a Google Voice line) and explain the issue, but he quickly said thanks and hung up. I've seen these scams before, and they are completely fraudulent. Stay away.
