Complaint Review: Purebred Breeders LLC

Purebred Breeders LLC Purebred Breeders Sold Us a Puppy with a Congenital Defect and Refuse to Return Our Calls Florida, Internet

Purebred Breeders sold us a puppy with a congenital defect. After our puppy died, they will not return our numerous calls or emails.

I want Purebred Breeders to refund my money ($1384.00) that we paid for our puppy. I do NOT want another puppy from them as we feel like the breeders they use are obviously not screened well enough. We researched the breeder our puppy came from and found that they do not allow visitors to the property, which is a tell-tell sign of a puppy mill. Our vets even told us that he came from a puppy mill.

On April 23, 2010 our puppy had to be put to sleep after almost 2 weeks of constant vet care (day and night). He suffered from a congenital defect called Megaesophagus.  Purebred Breeders claimed to be on our side "not the breeders" but when we told them the puppy died and had all of his vet records faxed over to prove the defect, they stopped taking our calls and would not answer our emails. Every day we call and are given the run around. It is the same story every time. We are told that the manager is on another call, is at lunch, or left for the day and she will call us back ASAP. For 2 1/2 weeks, we have gotten not ONE single call back.

We paid Purebred Breeders a lot of money to have the pet of our dreams and we are receiving unacceptable treatment from them once he has died. Before submitting this complaint tonight, we were told once again that the manager would all us right back. We warned that we may have to pursue other avenues if they did not call. The call never came. Our puppy has been dead for 6 weeks now. All we want is a full refund from them and a phone call saying that the check is in the mail.

Beware Don't Buy from Purebred Breeders LLC purebredbreeders.com aka buypuppiesdirect.com

BEWARE!!!! of Purebredbreeders.com aka Buypuppiesdirect.com They are a scam company!!! I am a reputable breeder who used them until I learned they are LIARS & Frauds!!!! I have been told many heartbreaking stories by puppy buyers who have been sold sick puppies or defrauded. I no longer list my puppies with the scam company. They charged $3100 for puppy give breeder $1800 and keep the profit of $1300 commission for themselves (for talking to the customer) Buyer's you can buy the same puppy for just $1800 direct from the reputable breeder!

Just try to talk to them after they have your signed contract and money..... it won't happen! You are just a number. They don't care about you. They lied to several of my clients about me. Even forced a client to change puppies... lying saying my puppy had a level 4 heart murmur... which was a lie. My puppy is 100% healthy. This company goes by several different names, they even change their phone number to make it look like they are local in your state to the buyers.

As a seller/breeder they try to get you to ship your puppy before they pay you. They screw the buyers and sellers every chance they get. Oh and lifetime guarantee... load of crap... just talk to clients who have tried to use their guarantee. PBB / BPD just won't call you back. Your call will never make it past their receptionist who are trained to micro manage the caller. Don't get ripped off. You can find the same puppy listed for much less on sites like puppyfind.com or nextdaypets.com. Research research research before choosing a puppy! Buy your puppy direct from a loving, respectable breeder! otherwise you are paying too much and getting scammed by a middle man!

I also received a sick puppy

I received a sick puppy from Purebred Breeders as well.  My poor little guy not only had kennel cough on arrival, but had luxation in both of his back knees (meaning he stopped walking on them completely) requiring a $5,000 surgery with a three month recovery time (aka no walking).  At this point, I had already had him for 5 months so when asked by Purebred if I "just wanted another one", I hung up in disgust.

Finally a Call Back but Still No Solution

Thanks for those who have commented, however, I do not need to be ridiculed. I posted this report so that others do not make the same mistake I did. I just picked up my puppy's ashes from the vet and his death is still fresh on my mind. Comments like "shame on you", are not constructive to this report. If you do not have additional information or a personal experience about Purebred Breeders, do not waste your time trying to attack me.

On another note, the day after I filed this report and a complaint with the BBB, I received a call from Purebred Breeders (surprise, surprise). The supervisor informed me that they are still working with the breeder on a solution but she (breeder) does not feel like she is responsible. Really?? Even after her vets and ours are telling her that the puppy died from a congenital defect??  The supervisor was supposed to contact us later on that day but of course, the call never came.

We will follow up again this week.

Thanks for sharing. But, you should have known better. Shame on you for giving money away to these people without doing your research.

BUYER BEWARE: Any breeder who lists more than two breeds with more than one or two litters at a time is likely pretty shady. Also note that on this particular web site there are about 20 types of dogs not all of whom are "purebred". Also - why don't they ever list the exact weight of mom and dad or post pictures of them? I'll tell you why - Because they are listing a range of what normal adult dogs of that breed typically weigh, because they are not in touch with the mom and dad of the litter - a clue that the dogs are not being treated well or even being watched over by the puppy mill owner or so called breeder ("commercial breederrs" fyi are puppy mill owners). and treat them terrible.

On the website is another clue: The company is licensed in Florida as it notes on the bottom of each page and yet is titled "Massachusetts Puppy Finder" - this should have been another red flag that something less than up to par is going on.

If you want an AKC registered puppy that is for sure not going to have any problems, go to AKC.com and look under their recommended Breed Clubs to find reputable and responsible breeders who love and care for these dogs as their own.
