FREE bottle of Omega 3 if you call this phone number the ad said.  So, my mother called to order her free bottle.

After the salesperson got her visa card number and her personal information, she was THEN told she would be put on an automatic shipping plan at $39.95 per bottle.  "No, I don't want that," my mother said.  The salesperson said he couldn't cancel the automatic shipping, my mother would have to call another phone number!

"Then just cancel my order for the FREE bottle," my mother said.  The salesperson said he couldn't cancel her order for the FREE bottle of Omega 3, my mother would have to call another phone number!

Purity Products advertises on KBRT.  Is KBRT aware of these practices????

THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION  states on their website

"The Bureau of Consumer Protection works to protect consumers against UNFAIR, DECEPTIVE, or FRAUDULENT PRACTICES in the marketplace. The Bureau conducts investigations, sues companies and people who violate the law, develops rules to protect consumers, and educates consumers and businesses about their rights and responsibilities. The Bureau also collects complaints about consumer fraud and identity theft and makes them available to law enforcement agencies across the country."

I intend to file a complaint with the FTC about the practices of Purity Products.

Customer Care can help

#2

Dear Sheila,

I'm very sorry to hear that your Mother had a poor experience when she ordered the free bottle of Omega 3. I want to assure you that it is not our intent to sign your Mother up for anything that she isn't interested in. Our free bottle promotion is designed to allow customers to try some of our biggest selling products before they buy. When the free bottle is ordered, we offer them the option of being on our Super Saver auto-ship program with a special price (up to 40% off the reg. price), but we make it clear that it is not mandatory. All of our calls are recorded so we can certainly go back and make sure that the offer was presented properly.

Customers can either decide when placing the initial order not to be on the Super Saver, or once they try the free bottle, if they are not completely satisfied they can call our Customer Care Dept. and either personalize, delay or cancel their order at that time. We offer many different options for customers that enjoy the benefits and want to continue taking the product.

We are very sorry for this apparant misunderstanding. We are willing to do whatever is necessary to make this right. We realize that mistakes do happen, but we work very hard to correct them quickly and to our customers complete satisfaction. This quick action in resolving customer complaints has earned Purity Products an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. I hope you will give us the opportunity to assist you in resolving this matter. Please contact our Customer Care Dept. and you can ask to speak with a Supervisor who will locate your account and help resolve this issue while you are on the phone. Thank you in advance for getting back in touch with us.
