Purrfect Auto Service ripoff - billed for changing a break switch that was never changed (the defective original part was left) Las VegasLas Vegas Nevada
When we were told our brake lights were not working we went to Purrfect Auto Service which was the only repair shop open at the time, our regular mechanic was closed.
They said the brake switch was gone and billed us for its replacement.
A few days later, the same problem happened so we went back and were told the "new" brake switch was fine. It was supposedly a wire that did not connect properly. It worked for a couple days then the problem reoccurred.
We then went to our regular mechanic who confirmed that the switch was never replaced of late, it was rusted and old, probably the original one from the time the truck was put on the road. So he ordered a new one which he will replace tomorrow.
So we went back to Purrfect Auto to get our money back and the manager refused saying he would repair, but we did not trust the man to do an honest job at this point so he told us "take me to court then, and get the hell off the property."

This very same Purrfect Auto Service TRIED to rip me off

I went to this Purrfect Auto Service garage, and if I hadn't known better I would have been ripped off too. I took my car in for a simple tune-up and oil change....after waiting for about 45 minutes, I was called to the garage and told that they could not change my oil because the plug was: "fused to the oil pan, and if I try to force it off, it will crack the pan which will cost about $235.00 to repair"....having watched my brother "tap" a plug locked in place many times when he changed the oil in his vehicles, I told the guy to leave it alone and finish the tune-up....to that he responded by telling me that there was a problem with the gasket, or seal, saying it was no good and causing oil to be sprayed into my spark plugs, and would cost about $150.00 to repair the mess. I again told the guy to just forget it. I asked that he get his hands off of my car and close the hood. I went in to the manager and told him what his mechanic was attempting to do. He said that his mechanics are the best in town, and if I didn't believe the mechanic I could just leave. I did.
I took my car to another mechanic and relayed the information I had received from the first mechanic....he found absolutely nothing wrong. My car was tuned up, and he "tapped" the oil plug,(without cracking the pan), and sent me on my way for $59.00....she still runs just fine.....
The owner/manager of this Purrfect Auto Service needs to rethink the policies there....I would suggest a law suit to teach them the finer points of attempting to cheat the public in the future.
