puzzlesforsale.com Delivery Ripoff Mission, Kansas
On Wednesday, Feb 17th, I placed an online order for 2 puzzles with Puzzlesforsale.com using a credit card for purchase. Shipping options were available and I chose 2 day shipping which cost $30 instead of the normal $7 ground shipping. The 2 day shipping was via UPS Air. There were no links or warnings about shipping cutoff times but this order was placed at 10AM and I assumed I would receive the order by Friday, Feb 19th. I received a confirmation email from Puzzlesforsale.com right away that they had received the order.
On Thursday evening, Feb 18th I received an email from UPS stating they had JUST received the order from Puzzlesforsale.com and would sending my order out with a delivery date of Monday, Feb 22nd. This is five days after the initial order. Had I ordered normal delivery option at $7, the website stated the product would be delivered in 3 business days which would have been Monday, Feb. 22nd.
I sent an email to puzzlesforsale on Thursday evening and complained that I would not be receiving my product until 5 days after the order was placed. I stated that since UPS did not receive the order until Thursday evening, the blame for the delay was on puzzlesforsale.com. I requested they reimburse me the difference between 2 day shipping and normal shipping.
On Friday, Feb 19th, I received a very contrite and mean-spirited email from Vanessa in "customer services" at puzzlesforsale.com that they would not reimburse the shipping difference and that total blame for the shipping delay was my fault. The email pointed out that their shipping policy dictates that any order placed after 7am would not ship until the next day. The email states that because of the policy, since my order was placed after 7am, then I could not be eligible for next day shipping. Since I ordered 2 day shipping, I'm still not sure why they would tell me I'm not eligible for next day shipping. The email stated that I should check shipping policies for companies in the future to avoid this problem.
I have placed internet orders with over 200 companies in my lifetime. I have never had a problem with getting a priority paid shipping option delivered in time unless it was weather related and couldn't be delivered by UPS/FedEx. Every website I have ever seen has always clearly stated right on the shipping option page what their cutoff times were for nextday & 2 day shipping. Most companies will state something like "if you want this package by x date, you must place the order by x time. There was no warnings or statements on puzzlesforsale.com. Every company I've dealt with does have cutoff times for priority shipping and most of them are 12noon and later. I have never seen a 7am cutoff especially since their toll free number isn't staffed until 8am. Does this company really think I would pay the extra money for priority shipping if I was going to get the package at the same time that normal shipping would have delivered it. I checked their website and could not locate anywhere about this so-called shipping policy. I'm sure it might be embedded in one of their links if I had only spent a hour searching their links before I placed the order.
I warned this company that I would be filing official complaints about their company if this matter was not resolved but they did not seem to care. I received a 2nd email from Vanessa that I believe she accidentily sent to me because it was addressed to Amie and stated, "this guy won't give up." No I won't. This company is a ripoff and could care less about their customer satisfaction. Avoid this company at all costs.
