Pyne's Texan RV advertised an RV on the internet as "no leaks" and after I purchased the unit and returned to Kansas City, discovered hidden water damage. The amount of the water damage was in excess of $6000.00. Texan RV said they would fix it if I brought the unit back which is not realistic. Why do they want to fix it now? why didn't they fix it before selling the unit????

An offer to Repair was Made in Good Faith

The complaintant here has been offered a repair of this unit at our facility. We are under the understanding that this unit may have suffered some hidden damage that we would not have seen in our selling of this unit, and that the customer also did not see in his extensive inspection of this unit.

We believe that for about $300 in materials and 16-22 hours of labor the whole front section can be rebuilt. So we are unwilling to pay someone to fix it for $6,000. If the unit is brought to our lot we will fix it at no charge to the customer as has already been offered.

We are in the RV business and we do not believe the damamge to be as extensive as the inflated estimate that has been presented us. If this had been as extensive as the repair estimate it would have been more evident to both us and the customer before leaving our lot. There were no sign of leaks on this unit and it had recently been used by an employee for personal use and no problems or leaks reported. Our offer still stands to fix this unit at no cost to the customer at our service facility. Since this unit was "SOLD AS IS" as stated in the Internet Advertsing we see this as a good faith gesture that we don't have to take but are willing in the effort of good business.
