I sold a bracelet on Craigs list and got a response from someone who wanted to buy it. Okay, okay, I know NOW that is is a scam, then I didn't. I received a check and cashed it at a local check cashing establishment since I bank with my credit union at work which is out of state. Had no problem cashing it. Sent the person an e-mail and said I had gotten the check cashed and where did I need to mail the bracelet. Never heard back from them.

This past Tuesday, while I home with the flu, my son comes into my room and tells me the police are here. He says he has a warrant for my arrest for forgery!!! I WAS ARRESTED AND TAKEN TO JAIL!! This is a felony with a huge bail. Evidently, the place I had cashed it at, put a warrant out on me because they said I knew it was not real! I had no idea about this, plus they did not contact me at all about the check. Now I am faced with all of this.

Any advice from anyone?

I was on the other end and had $ stolen from me via this Qchex scam. I contacted Qchex to report the problem and they were not helpful. Even James Danforth as mentioned on the link above said that even though I could prove who I was and that I didn't authorize the account they set up, that he couldn't close the account without the FBI contacting them. James told me that to close the fraud account, someone other than me would need to stop that account, and basically the fraud person had more rights to write Qchex on my bank account for money withdraws than I did!!!

This company caused me and my husband a lot of mental grief and agrivation. And from what I'v read on this site what happend to you and me seams like the standard for qChex.
