I am in the same predicament as many of the individuals that I reading about. A representative from Qitel contacted me and asked if it was alright to sent me some information about their 800 number and if I would accept their number I would be given a free cell phone. I told the representative that would be fine, send me the information. He then related to me that he would have to confirm it with his supervisor so just answer yes to all the questions but nothing will be billed to me until I receive the package, agree to the terms and send it back to them. The next ting I know there is a $60 charge to my phone.

I called Qitel and asked that this charge be taken off my telephone because I did not agree to this. To put this pleasantly, in so many words I was called a liar, asked not to call them back and the phone was hung up in my face. This process was repeated on countless occasions. I asked to speak with a manager; I was told that she (Tammy) was the manager. I then asked to speak to someone in the corporate office and was told that she was the corporate office. I also asked to talk to the representative that called my home because I am sure they work on commission so someone had to be given credit for RIPING ME OFF but I was once again told that was not possible because they have no way of contacting that representative. I am still in the process of fighting this charges and trying to find new avenues to take against Qitel.

If anyone know of anything or has found more information than I may not have please feel free to contact me at

Am presently employed at TCI, a call cneter here in philippines that handles the Qitel account. i was so depressed to realized that these complaints ruin the credibility of our company.
I ucertainly understand the sentiments of these clients but as much as i love to sypathized with them i know that Qitel is not held responsible for these. Most agents tend to mislead our clients and a thing that our company doesnt tolerate. to all the Qitel account holder and to those who have not been called yet.../ please be responsible... listen attentively and dont be seduce by the free cell phone and just answer yes on a verification just because an agent told you to do so. In that way, if asn agent ask you to eat a dirty feces, then you'll eat too... the logic is that we should not say yes if we are not sure what its is all about.
thanks
