Quality #1 Auto Repair in Los Angeles, CA
I was quoted approximately $300-350 to do a job I had previously
diagnosed from the dealer. After Quality #1 on La Cienega had my
car, they took it apart (clutch work) and kept making different
promises they didn't keep.
As they were working on my car, the price was raised to $500, then to $600 and when I went to pick it up, they charged me $695. I hadn't approved that amount, and they had falsely initialed the approval was done over the phone. Since I am hearing impaired, the owner, Francis Mansour tried to say my father or my boyfriend approved that, which they didn't.
He called the cops and told me that they would arrest me
if I didn't sign the line (that stated I approved the amount over the phone). I offered to pay, but not to sign and he still wouldn't release the car to me.
I then took him to small claims and won $246 (for false
imprisonment and overcharging), since he had kept my car, which was of significant value for more than an hour against my will. He nor the shop has paid this amount to me, but I have a judgement.
During this argument, he was physically and verbally abusive to me.
Even though the cops were there, they didn't know the law.
