In the early Spring of 2012, we hired Quality Paving (Richard Verdini) to add a small driveway in our existing yard.  The job consisted of adding the small driveway, sealcoating our existing driveway and then returning in the Spring of 2013 to re-sealcoat both driveways.

Quality Paving was supposed to begin the job in early June.  June came and went and I was told the first week of July.  The first week of July came and went and I was told that he was busy doing commercial jobs because the businesses that he services were closed for the 4th so he needed to get those jobs completed first.  While I could understand that logic, why would you tell me that you would be at my house the week of the fourth if you knew that you had commerical jobs to complete.

Mr. Verdini began the job on my driveway the July 11.  My sideyard was dug up completely and supposingly his equipment broke.  I was told that he would be back at my house the following day.  His equipment (large bobcats and such) and the trailer that he pulls everything on sat in my yard for almost two weeks. Despite both my attempts and my husbands attempts to contact him, the phone calls to Mr. Verdini went unanswered a couple of weeks.  Everytime I would call, the phone would end up going to voicemail.  Finally on July 20th, contact was made with Mr. Verdini and I was advised that he would be at our house on Wednesday, July 25.

July 25th came and went without a phone call to tell us that he was delayed, etc.  When I called his cell phone later that day, there was a voicemail message stating that he was on his honeymoon and wouldn't be returning calls until Monday, July 30th.  Needless to say I was furious.  Why would you commit to a date knowing that you have already fallen through on several occasions and you would be on your honeymoon.  On Thursday, July 26, I sent Mr. Verdini an email telling him that I needed him to call me because I want the job finished immediately.  On July 30th, I received a response (via email) simply stating "sorry lost my smartphone have not been able to access voice mail or email".

The following week continued to be the same game of my calling his cell phone.  His voicemail box was "full" so I couldn't even leave him a message.  It was the second week of August before I was able to speak with him again and at that time was told he had been in the hospital with pneumonia.  If the was a book on excuses, this guy has them.

Finally around the end of the third week of August, Mr. Verdini came back to finish the job.  It took several additional days as he stated that he ran out of asphalt, etc. and then would only work half of the day.  I was promised that he would be back in the Spring to seal coat both drive ways as per our agreement and what he was paid in full to do.

Needless to say, it is now October, 2013.  My husband and I have probably left about 15 voicemail messages to him and I have tried to email him, to no avail.  I did file a report with the Better Business Bureau; however, he has not responded to them either.  So very frustrating.
