Quality Plus Cleaners loses clothing, ignores complaints, rips off customers Tampa Florida
Judging by the other complaints I've read on this site, this company has been getting away with ripping customers off for a long time. Unbelievable!
An order of 5 men's business shirts was dropped off November 15, 2006. On November 20th when I picked up my order, I was given 4 shirts back. The missing shirt was a brand new shirt from Dillard's that I had worn once. I have a receipt for the shirt for $64.50 before sales tax.
I have documentation that shows their error, the company employees have agreed that I am due a refund, but due to store turnover I have spoken with 7 different employees about this matter. In addition, I have left two messages for the owner that have gone unreturned. Based on the comments I find on the Internet about this guy, I'm not holding my breath.
The company process is such that no one is given authority to solve problems and I think most customers don't have the time to go through all this trouble, so they just give up. This is the second item they've lost, but the first was a pair of pants that were older, so after trying a few times I gave up. Shame on me for continuing to use them because they were conveniently located.
I'm assuming based on comments I've heard from employees that this is a standard operating practice. If this is the case, I can't believe they are still in business with as many locations as they have. I am a busy executive and have wasted hours just trying to get my money back. Needless to say I will tell everyone I know and come in contact with NOT to ever take the chance of using a ripoff company like Quality Plus cleaners.

After much badgering and calls from the Better Business Bureau, Quality Plus cleaners finally sent me a refund check for my lost shirt.

c1997: when we lived in upstate NY we had placed four (4) of my wife's fur coats in summer cold storage at a "reputable" dry cleaner north-west of Schenectady. When we went to retrieve those coats in the late fall, the store staff could not "find" them. I had to search through the entire storage unit where I finally found three of her fur coats, and one of those three had simply been dumped into a wheeled cart! The still-missing fourth coat was a full length custom female mink that they claimed we had already picked up, but our paperwork proved otherwise. A week later the coat "appeared" and we picked it up. I still believe someone was using that mink coat. Those coats USED were worth many, many times more than $65. You cannot be too careful....
