I received a letter with a check for $2,850.00 to become a secret shopper. The envelope had no return address and a Canadian stamp. The Letter Head had Quality Service Evaluators. The Check had the company as Noranda or Norandal(Listed Both Ways) USA, Inc. 400 Bill Brooks Drive Huntingdon, TN (NO ZIP CODE) Payable through Fifth Third Bank.
To add a little more of legitimacy to it the letter began by listing a Code of Business Conduct and Ethics that were required reading. My assignment was Oulined as Training/Pay $200. My Tasks were as follows: Walmart/$100, MoneyGram/Service chg. $100/MoneyGram/$2350 = $2850.00, JCPenney/$100. Hmm? I smell a rat!
Before I could do anything I had to call the Human Resources Manager, Michael E McCammon who would explain my assignments to me. Then there is a note explaining that I would need to contact their office immediately in order to have the CHEQUE Activated and its security uplifted.
I would be willing to bet that they want me to complete my assigned tasks before releasing the check! Huh, and I bet that by that time their check would no longer be valid!!!! I also figure that they will not be available anymore as well! Just a guess! I SMELL A RAT!!
