Complaint Review: Quality Subscriptions Inc./Periodical & Publication Connection Inc.

Two teenage girls knocked on our door (overly friendly)explaining that they were on Chatsworth Soccer team and they were going to Hawaii to play a game. However, some of the girls can't afford it, so they came up with a way to help support them to raise money by sponsoring books for the kids at a children's hospital where they can choose up to 5 books due to our sponsorship. They showed a slip with a form to fill out so that you have as tax deductable as well as you recieving it from the company.

I didn't have a good feeling about it from the beginning, but thought that they sure looked like honest girls and my kids were enjoying their bubbleness and conversations, you almost forgot about dishonest people.

Well after giving them 2 checks, they asked that it be divided between them for points. Well, after they left I still had this uneasy feeling so I looked online and sure enough found out that this is a similar scam. It happened to us in Northridge, Ca. My husband saw them outside and told them that they were scamming to give him back the checks and they said they were insulted and that they bought the checks to their house already.

We live in a gated community and these things are not supposed to happen, but it did. We are going to cancel the checks, I just thought I'd pass this on so others will know to trust your instinct no matter how nice some young kids appear and no matter how good the cause, there are big fat liars who are running scams for this bogus companies..
