I am a former employee of SK Marketing located in Charleston, SC. SK Marketing is now closed, and is a prime example of why this is a terrible business to embark into.

Quantum Events, operated under Mike Putnam, is actually the owner over all of the other companies around the US. This is a nasty pyramid scheme, and he makes money off each and every "owner/president" who opens a new branch. From day 1, employees are brainwashed with dreams of making big money in a short amount of time. I was one of them!

Okay, so c'mon people, think about it. Where else is it required that employees receive a promotion to be an "owner" of a business? NEVER. You are not an owner, you are simply a manager of a branch that is fully controlled by Mike Putnam and Quantum Events.

For this reason, I am not going to list the "owner" who I worked for. She had her branch open for a very short time, before realizing that the scam never ends! Although being unemployed sucks, I am lucky to have escaped this brainwashing and business scheme when I did!!

Now, however, I am facing a new problem. SK Marketing has yet to send me my W-2 forms for the work that I did for them. I honestly wouldn't care other than the fact that I would like to claim the 700 miles I put on car during the 4 weeks I worked for the company! I contacted the IRS, and they said that this is a common occurrence for pyramid-type companies. I am sure this is exactly what Mike Putnam had in mind when creating his business model, because ultimately the taxes come down on him.

I have tried to contact my former boss, but she is not responding to any type of communication. The IRS told me that she has 2 more weeks to legally sort out my tax information, and at that time if I have still not received my W2 then I can file an official IRS complaint. SK Marketing is not in the IRS's business database(sketchy- why am I not surprised), but guess what is? Quantum Events under Mr. Mike Putnam himself. Yes both will be receiving a formal IRS complaint from yours truly.

They messed with the wrong person!
