Quest Diagnostics completed lab work on my allergy tests. They split the test results and submitted the claims to my insurance company, which though the two invoices were duplicates and only paid one.

An entire year was spent trying to explain this to the billing people at Quest and get it corrected. Finally, I provided a ton of information to my insurance company and they paid Quest. Quest then continues to bill me to collect twice, and finally sends it to a collection agency. When I send a copy of the form indicating the insurance company already paid, the collection account closed immediately.

I really wish doctors would stop using Quest in the NYC area. I've talked to a lot of other people here who have had problems with them.

The doctors are the ones who use these labs. Report their billing habits to the AMA. They should have a website. If not, email your Attorney General's office and they can provide the correct information.
