Quest moing lied from the beginning. They told us they werent a broker. Picked up our stuff on 8-28-18 in PA to head to Florida. It is now 10-4-18 and still nothing. They never answer the phone and if they call back they have no information. All of the calls seem to go to an Answering service. They qwuoted us one price then aded a cpouple of thousand dollars when thery picked it up. They alsomade us pay upfront which now we understand shouldnt be. We were told by one person our stuff was loaded on Tuesday and on its way finally then told by another person it wasnt loaded. We have spent a ton of money just trying to get by and now Afraid that all of our belonging we paid to have stolen. Would love to know what actions we can take to get this issue resolved

I said it seems deceptive that they brokered your move. To clarify, to me it seems deceptive that they brokered it without first disclosing that the move would be brokered and that they failed to put the DOT number and MC number on the first page of their website. They also failed to disclose that they are brokers on page one of the website.

Here is what the Federal Motor Carrier Safty Administration website says about moving brokers:https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move/movers-vs-brokers

I took a look at the website for this company and it is one of those template sites that take about 2 minutes to put together. I couldn't find the MC number on the website, which is most likely a violation of some government regulation. So I googled 'what is the MC number for Quest Moving' and the right data comes up FMCSA website showing all kinds of info about Quest. It shows the entire company has one truck and one driver which would indicate that they are going to broker your move rather than actual move you.

If I were in your shoes now, I would find out who actually move you and contact that co/individual directly to find your stuff.

Consider filing a police report. Seems deceptive to me that Quest was brokering your move.

If I had my way, there would be no moving brokers at all.
