quibids.com Ridiculous bidding site. require you to "buy bids" at .60 a piece in one cent increments. It usually takes like 2200 bids to win a camera or camcorder, you do the math Internet
I bought 60.00 worth of "bids" on this website, Quibids.com.
Of course, the way the company markets is they advertise, for example, that Billy Bo Bob won a television for just 41.00, or Suzy Sue won this digital camera for just 22.00. Wow what a deal!!! This is a new way to buy!! Where do I sign up??....I'm advising you don't do it!
Here's how it works...you bought your bids and spent hypothetically 60 bucks to get started. You see a digital HD camcorder for 2.32, then 2.33, then 2.34 it has only a ten second timer, you think wow if someone even sneezes in between they'll miss a counterbid and I'll win. So you start pounding thinking if I keep trying, I will eventually win, but now you have spent 30 bids (or 18.00) and still haven't won.
Here's your dilemma, quit and lose the 18.00 in bids you have already spent, or keep trying and possibly lose it all chasing one item. So you quit and try something else. Your looking and thinking, You see a target stores gift card for 50 bucks, you think "that should be easier to get". So you try to get it and guess what, you don't win that either after eating up another 20 bids. So you say "here's an auction that helps you win more bids. I'll try that because I'm getting low on bids, maybe I can win more bids". And...there you have it, you have blown the rest of your bids trying to win more bids, and the rip-off is complete. You're out sixty bucks.
60 bucks is a cheap way to start this new way of buying...or new way of getting rooked is more like it. For example, you see a digital camera for 3.00. You say...wow 3 bucks! I gotta win that! It's a one cent auction. That means at 60 cents per bid, the site will collect 60 dollars per one dollar (or one hundred cents) this item sells for. At 3 dollars in one cent increments, the item has already made 180.00. A camera that normally sells for 200.00 can go on quibids for a much as 20 to 40.00!!! In a one cent auction, a 30.00 item will cost the bidding community as much as 1800.00, just 60 cents at a time!
And here's the beauty of it, Quibids.com gets to advertise another happy costumer buying a 200.00 item for just 23.63. What an incredible scam!!!!!!!!! What they fail to mention is people like me and hundreds or even thousands others who walked away with nothing for their "$60 bid" purchase! Scam, scam, scam!!! The old adage kicks in, if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.

We are not a scam. QuiBids simply works on a pay-to-play business model. Our top priority is to educate our users on how our site works, which is precisely why we offer the QuiBids101 section. Each tutorial gives a more thorough explanation of how our site/features work. What you can see from the complaint above is what we are informing our customers to not do - don't jump from one auction to the next. We offer many other suggestions in this section that we hope consumers are aware of.
In the event a customer loses an auction, there will always be the opportunity to utilize the Buy it Now feature. This assures a user that he/she can get the item at retail. He/She is able to apply all the bids spent in that auction to the price of the item.
