I was bidding on a Mac Book and noticed the auction was lagging just a bit so I tested my internet connection with ping tests and latency tests (btw I work for my ISP) and my connection was just fine great pings no latency and great speeds.. So I put in my bid for the MacBook and voila I WON, I was exstatic, I couldn't wait to tell everyone about my win, this site is awesome! So i checked my email and there it was, My email with the buy button to pay for this extremely cheap well timed MacBook, But to my dismay when I clicked to pay for it my Username was not the winner hmm..... how could this be? I won, it said it on my screen, I got the email.. Wow, 4 bids after me won what are the odds, even if there was a glitch what are the odds 4 bids after my winning bid won? Here is my email from Quibids.. I contacted Quibids, talked to Josh he said he didn't know what happened, but he would get back to me. Guess what, he didn't I had to call back, he then told me he had to talk to the CFO of Quibids and would call me back by the end of day, hmm... no call back. I called back the next day and he told me I didn't win the auction sorry someone else did.. Not acceptable, I wanted to talk to the CFO myself.. I was told he would contact me, nope 2-3 wks later still haven't heard from him.. I want to know why I haven't received my laptop???? I have screen shots of my win I will post!

Congratulations!

I won and it was more than just an email

I won that auction fair and square, so what if I put in only one bid, that is Quibids business plan, you COULD win products very cheap but odds are you won't, I understand this.  I have all the screen shots showing I won, not just an email and if anyone would like to see them I would be more than happy to show you. I won and Quibids doesn't want to pay up. BAD business if you ask me. To everyone else that gets shafted by Quibids good luck, I am sure it's only a matter of time before this industry is either shut down or regulated by state government. I for one have sent letters and emails to my State Attorney's office and Oklahoma's State Attorneys office. I believe it's not a fair business if Quibids can pick and choose who really wins an auction. I know on ebay you get negative feedback and if you have to much negative feedback no one will buy from you.. Well here is my negative feedback.. To all you consumers out there that think you may be able to win cheap products on Quibids BEWARE! They can pick and choose if you win or not. Again BEWARE!

Database

#3UPDATE Employee

Wed, June 02, 2010

I'm very sorry this happened but I will explain the situation.  Our database tracks who wins all our auctions and in this particular auction, he did not win.  That email shouldn't have gone out.  It was a glitch in our system that allowed the email to send to this customer.  Since our customers literally bid at the same time, our database has to keep track of when the bids come through by the thousandth of a second - very close and precise.

The actual winner was indeed another customer.  We have their name and shipping/tracking number of the product for verification.  We hate that this happened and are very apologetic.  In our attempt to make things right, we credited the customer 200 bids.  Know that in that auction, this customer only spent one bid, so by far, he ended up with the better end of the deal.  A glitch like this one is very atypical, otherwise you would see multiple posts like this and in fact, you do not.  We work extremely hard to please our customers and to make things right if any issues arise.  Our loyal customers and testimonials speak for themselves.  We have spoken to this customer, as well as credited the bids mentioned above.
