I have filed an application for home equity line of credit with Quick Loan Funding. While I was looking for a number where I could follow up the status I came accross a rip off report from the internet which made me think twice before doing business with them.

But this loan officer, Ian Silva, was insistent when I told him I am going to think it over. He said I was pre-approved for the loan. He said that a Loan appraisal has to be ordered. Initially he informed me that I wouldn't pay anything out from my pocket and if the loan was approved they are going to charge my credit card because according to him they would pay the balance of that credit card so that they could accomodate the appraisal fee.

He called me back again to tell me that I was supposed to pay for the appraisal before my loan would be approved. I said I will have to back out from it. He said he would guarantee that it will be approved and that worse comes to worse he would reimburse me the money for the appraisal fee.

I repeated it over and over again just to make sure that he mean what he said. So I went through with it with eyes closed.

My application got turned down and the very insistent Ian is now nowhere to be found because he would not return my call anymore. I filed a complaint with the assistant to the president and told me that he would call me up that day. Suprisingly Ian called me up and told me that when Mike (Assistant to the Pres.)call just tell him that we already agreed upon something and I will reimburse the money out from my own pocket.
I was hoping to get my money, so I conceded. He told me he is going to wire me the money that week. Nothing came.

I tried calling him he said he is broke and don't have the money yet. His Grandfather died and all those stuff. Last week he texted me saying he is not connected with Quick Loan Funding anymore and I should try to get it from them.

I asked quick Loan Funding Customer Service and said that he is still very much connected with the company. After a week of telling me that he is not connected anymore, his voice mail is still active.

I hope this kind of fraud would stop. They should have pointed out from the disclosure that no we cannot reimburse this to you.

I wouldn't see myself in this predicament if only I had listened how bad this company is. I hope everybody learn from this mistake.

Maria,

You can do this yourself.

1. Contact the credit card company you used. Tell them that you paid for a service that you did not recieve. They should start a process known as "charge back". After they investigate your complaint, and Quick Loan Funding does not respond, they should refund the charge back to you.

2. File a complaint with the DOC (Department of Corporations) This is the state agency that governs lenders in the state of California. You can located them on the internet. Make sure that you write a letter to the President of Quick Loan Funding to explain what you are going to do and why.

3. Go to the DRE, (Depatment of Real Estate) state of California. if this guy Ian, has a real estate license, you will be able to find his name and address there. You can file a complaint on that website about him.

Stay claim, but be persistant. Money is money, and this jerk deserves your attention. The law is quite clear here...if they charged you and did not provide you with upfront information that states their refund policy...you got girl !!!!!
