I spoke with Matthew McCarthy after receiving a flyer in the mail. Because Quicken was a big name I trusted what Matthew told me he would do. He told me he needed $500 Good Faith Deposit. He later revised it to $400 because the loan is VA. I told him I was uncomfortable giving him the money because I didn't want to loose money if the refinance didn't go through.

Matthew told me the same things I have read in the other compaints, as long as you go through with the loan you won't lose the $400. So I gave him my credit card number. Kyle called me 2 weeks later to tell me the apprailsal came in too low. I asked about getting the money back and was told the money was used for costs incurred (appraisal, credit report).

I explained what I was promised and they assured me that I was never told that. I really wish I had done some research before I used Quicken (RipOffs). I don't have the time or the cell phone minutes it takes to get treated fairly by these people. I will file a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, the BBB, and maybe see about the states attorney general. I would love suggestions if anyone has any.
